NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Plum Street Snoball is one of many local food vendors representing New Orleans at this year’s Jazz Fest. We stopped by their Burdette St. location to check in on how the sugary treats were coming along.
Plum Street has been around since 1955, they make their own syrup, which of course, requires a lot of sugar. Owner Donna Black is spunky and quick on her feet. She loves talking to out-of-towners about the “art” of snoball making and calls herself a “mad scientist” when it comes to their creation.
“Oh, they’re like virgins! We get them started on the Chocolate, Cream and Chocolate, Nectar Cream and Ice Cream,” she explained.
All snoballs from Plum Street are made in a Chinese take out carton and guest are provided with a plastic bag to help with the mess and melt.
