METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) – An NOPD Officer was rushed to University Medical center after what appears to be a single-vehicle crash in Metairie.
The crash happened Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Richland Ave. and Ford St.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department says NOPD Sergeant Mike Marzile was discovered semi-conscious sitting behind the wheel of his personal vehicle. He was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
According to witnesses, the SUV was traveling southbound on Ridgeland when it appeared as though the vehicle suddenly went off the road and struck a pole.
The crash is under investigation and the officer’s condition is unknown at this time.
