New Orleans, La. -(WGNO)- Dressed in regal garments, His Majesty XXIV, King Alex Lundeen and Her Majesty XXIV, Queen Nee Nee Sprang of the Krewe of Barkus held their traditional Friday lunch at the historic Galatoire’s Restaurant.
King Alex and Queen Nee Nee were honored with champagne toasts and a lavish meal of lamb chops. The Krewe of Barkus will parade on Sunday, Jan. 31, starting at 2 p.m. marching from Armstrong Park and proceeding through the French Quarter. This year’s parade is themed “2016: From the Dog House to the White House.” All proceeds from Barkus, a non-profit organization founded by Wood Enterprises, benefit animal organizations in New Orleans and the Gulf South area. WGNO is very proud to have one of our own honored in this year’s parade.. Queen Nee Nee is the proud pup of Elizabeth Bell Sprang and News with a Twist anchor Curt Sprang.
