UPDATE: At about 8 p.m. on Monday, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Derick Fehn at a home in St. Bernard Parish.

Police say Fehn was booked into the St. Bernard Parish Jail but awaits extradition to St. Tammany Parish.

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — A man is wanted in St. Tammany Parish after a days-long family feud led to a fatal shooting on Easter Sunday.

The STPSO reports an arrest warrant has been issued for 30-year-old Derick Joseph Fehn for charges that include murder, attempted murder, and obstruction of justice.

On Sunday, deputies began investigating the shooting in the 2000 block of Old Spanish Trail near Slidell.

An early investigation revealed a feud between Fehn’s significant other and her sister led him to drive to the sister’s home.

Detectives say as Fehn approached the house, three people exited the house: the sister, her 30-year-old boyfriend, and their small child.

The feud quickly turned violent when Fehn reportedly fired shots at the family before driving away. The woman and child were not injured, however, the man was taken to an area hospital where he later died. His name has not yet been released.

Police continue to search for Fehn, who is believed to be driving a white, newer model Chevy pickup truck.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Sgt. Adam Rudolph at (985) 726-7849.
