NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Police are investigating after a shooting injured one person in Treme Thursday morning.

At 6:45 a.m., NOPD reports police were called to the 1900 block of St. Ann Street.

Initial reports indicated a woman sustained a single gunshot wound. Her age was unclear.

She was transported to an area hospital by EMS, however, details of her condition were not immediately known.

Several hours later, NOPD announced the shooting had been changed to a homicide after a second victim was found at a different location in the same block of St. Ann Street.

However, a second update from NOPD revealed the two shootings were unrelated. The shootings are being investigated as two separate incidents.

The male victim’s name and age have not yet been released.
