KENNER, La. (WGNO) — A misdemeanor domestic violence charge against Saints player Junior Galette will not be prosecuted. Galette’s attorney, Ralph Whalen, said in a statement Thursday that Kenner Assistant City Attorney dismissed the charge.
“This confirms what we have said from the beginning about Junior Galette’s actions and character,” Whalen said.
On Monday, January 5, 2015 police were called to Galette’s Kenner home by a woman who said she was jumped by Galette and his cousin Terrance Banks.
Whalen said Kenner investigators interviewed four witnesses in the case before making their decision to drop the charge.
The 22-year-old claimed to be Galette’s live-in assistant. The two allegedly got into an argument when Galette asked her to leave his home and refused to give her money for a taxicab.
She is behind a civil lawsuit filed Thursday claiming physical abuse, mental and psychological abuse, false imprisonment, defamation, alienation and more.
Her attorney Joseph Raspanti told WGNO over the phone, “Junior Galette is a manipulative predator. We are just hoping to expose what he did so that it won’t happen to other people.”
The front guard shack to the entrance of Place Pontchartrain in Kenner is as far as the general public can get to where the alleged crimes occurred and to where Galette lives.
The lawsuit also claims five other New Orleans Saints players were present when she was drugged with a liquid known as horny juice and while one teammate penetrated her vagina with his hand.
Meantime Galette’s attorney says in a statement they turned down the plaintiff’s offer to settle for two million dollars because, “We are confident an investigation and a full hearing of the facts will reveal that Junior Galette behaved appropriately and will be cleared.”
Because of the allegations in the petition like ripping an earring out, causing her ear to be shredded, Raspanti tells WGNO, “We are confident we will prove the facts alleged in the petition.”
