NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Andretti Sports is suing NOLA Motorsports Park over state grant money. Andretti Sports claims that they were promised a chunk of the grant as compensation for organizing the event, but instead the money was spent on track upgrades.
According to Andretti Sports, the money was part of a deal that involved them hosting the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana at NOLA Motorsports Park through 2017. Andretti claims that about $2.6 million would go to bringing the tracks up to Indy standards, but the lawsuit claims that nearly $3.5 went into the track instead.
