ABITA SPRINGS, La. (WGNO) – He is a concerned citizen of St. Tammany Parish.
And he’s also a big star.
On Monday night in Abita Springs, Ian Somerhalder, joined the North Shore group to get the latest on the fight against fracking.
Earlier the parish issued a cease and desist order to stop the drilling, at least for now.
Somerhalder says with the election season ahead, the next step is for people to see where candidates stand on fracking.
“We need to reassess who these people are that are going into office. We need to reassess what their values are, what their moral compass is, and what their future goals are,” said Somerhalder.
And even though fracking was the hot topic, Somerhalder was also happy to hit the floor and sign some artwork to help the East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity. Click here to learn more.
