MANDEVILLE, La. (WGNO) – Tonight is a very special night on the NorthShore.  A fashion runway show with models who are all cancer survivors.  You Night Empowering Events is putting on this special event.

News with a Twist Reporter Kenny Lopez is the Emcee for the special show and he joins us LIVE backstage with a peek of how everything’s going!

“You Night” is a six month empowerment program which helps cancer survivors embrace life beyond cancer.

The survivors go through a series of classes and programs to help them realize their strength and courage.

On “You Night”, the survivors will will walk down a 72-foot runway like fashion models showing off their strength.

“The most exciting thing to witness is women who are so down on themselves from their cancer experience to be brave enough to take a step in their lives and make a positive shift.  They get to envision what they want to look like, what they want to feel like, and really make every moment in their life count,”  Lisa McKenzie, “You Night” Co-Founder, said.

“There’s an interesting aspect to cancer.  You get beat up with all the affects of chemotherapy.  The paradox is you actually develop a strength that you didn’t know you had,”  Susan Bopp, “You Night” Co-Founder said.
