NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – A sales tax increase that would provide long-term funding for state police and other public safety services in the French Quarter passed with 78% of the vote during Saturday’s election.
The tax on goods and services sold in the district will increase by 0.2495%. It’s expected to generate at estimated $2 million annually.
