LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. (WGNO) – Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s deputies recovered more than $6,000 of merchandise and busted a shoplifting ring at several Walmart stores in south Louisiana. Deputies arrested 32-year-old Edward Lawson of Thibodaux and issued an arrest warrant for 44-year-old Willie Holmes, Jr. in connection to the case. Authorities say more arrests could be possible with the ongoing investigation. The investigation began mid-November, after two incidents at the Walmart Supercenter in the 4800 block of Highway 1 in Raceland. Detectives later connected a group which included Lawson and Holmes to the crimes.  Deputies got a search warrant to check a storage locker in Bayou Blue.  When they searched it they found all the stolen goods with a total value of $6,159.56.
