METAIRIE, LA (WGNO) – People really stop at nothing for the perfect Christmas tree.  As they search at street corner tree lots across the country, it’s a competition.  It’s a Christmas tree beauty contest.

And the winner is the one that gets to go home with you.

WGNO News with a Twist features reporter Wild Bill Wood goes to Perino’s Home & Garden Center in Metairie to ask the question that’s already a rumor.

Will Viagra help  your Christmas tree stand taller?

Will it keep it from drooping?

Wild Bill asks Nick Sarsfield at Perino’s.  That’s right.  He’s a salesman.  He sells Christmas trees. And his name is Nick.

To get Nick’s answer to Wild Bill’s question about Viagra,  just watch Wild Bill’s story here.

Perino’s Home & Garden Center has been in business for 60 years.  And the company has been in the business of selling Christmas trees for 40 years.

That’s about half a century of making holidays greener in the New Orleans area.

This holiday season, you can choose from Fraser Firs, Noble Firs and Nordman Firs.  All these trees come from forests in Oregon and North Carolina.

Prices range from $30 to $700.  Perino’s will sell nearly 3,000 trees between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

Of course, big beautiful trees have no problem finding  forever homes.  But what about the small trees.

Find out what happens to one of them when you click and watch Wild Bill’s story.
