NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Tiny patients got to dance and sing with Santa and Mrs. Claus Wednesday when the Royal Sonesta’s ‘Teddy Bear Express’ stopped by the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans.
Festivities begin around 9 a.m. with a New Orleans’ style second-line parade that went through the hospital’s corridors and arrived in the auditorium. Where Santa, Mrs. Claus and Rudolph and friends awaited them.
This heart-warming holiday event is highly anticipated by both patients and hospital staffers.
The Royal Teddy Bear Tea ‘Road Trip’ is but one element of Royal Sonesta’s multi-layered community outreach program that supports Children’s Hospital New Orleans during the holidays.
Royal Sonesta also hosts ambulatory patients and their families for a Royal Teddy Bear Tea experience staged in the hotel’s elegant grand ballroom, conducts a holiday toy drive for the hospital and commissions a local artist to create a holiday ornament with proceeds benefiting the hospital. This philanthropic initiative with Children’s Hospital embraces Sonesta’s ‘Culture of Caring’ and has been recognized by the New Orleans City Council.
