Yasmin Garaad joined WGNO in January 2024 as a Digital Content Producer.
She’s originally from New Orleans but moved to Maine and returned home to the Big Easy 10 years ago.
She attended Dillard University and studied journalism.
Her work has been published on Business Insider, Health.com, BET News and The New Orleans Tribune. She has experience covering local news, entertainment, climate change and the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
Yasmin is fluent in Somali and Amharic. She enjoys playing tourist in the city and loves boasting to her friends about it being one of the most romantic cities in America. She is excited to be serving the city she loves!
