NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Cool and dry air has settled into the Gulf Coast region in the wake of a cold front that passed through on Saturday.
This morning, lows are in the mid and upper 30s across the Northshore with upper 30s to low 40s south. High temperatures will be a little warmer, topping out at around 68 degrees.
High temperatures should remain seasonal for most of the week, with low to mid 60s returning Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances are expected to remain low for the next few days.
Showers and storms are forecast to return Saturday ahead of our next front, with rain chances at 60 to 70 percent. There are still some timing issues this far out, but at this point the second half of the day Saturday is looking soggy. Some of the rain could be locally heavy.
Once the rain clears, cool and breezy conditions are expected Sunday afternoon.
