NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Good Morning, New Orleans! Happy Friday Before Mardi Gras as we start the final weekend of the Carnival season with very warm and spring-like conditions. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s by Friday with partly cloudy skies for a beautiful day. We will also warm into the upper 70s Saturday followed by mid 70s on Sunday ahead of the next cold front.

Rain chances will go up through the weekend. A few showers are possible on Saturday but most of the rain moves in Sunday and Sunday night. Sunday parades could be soggy later in the day. There is a chance of a few stronger storms as well later in the day Sunday.

Timing is still a question in terms of when the heaviest rain moves in. Right now it looks like overnight into early Monday. Rain may linger into midday Monday before moving out by afternoon festivities.

Temperatures will be quite a bit cooler however as the front pushes through. Expect breezy conditions on Monday and then nice weather for your Mardi Gras with highs Tuesday only in the upper 50s.
