VIOLET, La, (WGNO) — For the sixth year, they’re really cooking.
It’s a contest, and for a really good cause.
Four hundred miles of coastline, it’s “Cook-Off to Save the Coast.”
It’s at Docville Farm at 5124 E. St. Bernard Highway in Violet.
And WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood is here with your invitation.
The party is this Saturday, Feb. 24.
It’s from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The team of culinary students from Chalmette High School is ready to compete.
They’ll be creating a fried softshell crab with a jalapeno ravigote sauce.
And that’s served over a cherry tomato, cucumber and radish salad.
In fact, they brought home one of the top trophies from last year’s “Cook-Off for the Coast.”
