NEW ORLEANS — The Delgado Dolphins grind out a 2-0 win over Bryant & Stratton College on the opening night of the “Rags” Scheuermann Memorial Tournament.

How It Happened:

Dolphins starting pitcher Luke Barbier was electric, striking out 11 of the 17 batters he faced in five innings of work.

Delgado’s offense was held scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning when Logan O’Neill delivered an RBI single to score the first run of the game.

Josh Eames would deliver the second run of the game with an RBI single later in the inning.

The Dolphins improve to 2-1 on the year with the win Wednesday night.

Tournament play resumes Friday at 5 p.m. with Pensacola State facing Bryant & Stratton at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.

Delgado will play Pensacola State in the second game of the day.

First pitch for that game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
