NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Humane Society of Louisiana reports that a piglet has been rescued after a person saw it being “tossed like a football” this Mardi Gras season.
According to the HSL, a man saw three other men throwing what he originally thought was a football, later discovering it was actually a pig.
The man got the pig from the other men and brought it to a friend, who named it “Piglet.”
Piglet was later brought to the Humane Society and then brought to Metairie Small Animal Hospital for treatment.
HSL leaders said Piglet is now being fostered, and two people have applied to adopt him.
