JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating the man deputies say is responsible for a Marrero homicide.

According to JPSO deputies, on Feb. 16 at 4:20 a.m., a shooting in the 1100 block of Medical Center near West Jefferson Medical Center left a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

He arrived at a hospital where he later died, according to JPSO deputies.

Deputies say an investigation into the crime led them to identify 24-year-old Tommy Encalade as the suspect in the case.

Encalade faces charges of second-degree murder, as well as charges of obstruction of justice, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Anyone with information about where Encalade could be is asked to call the Homicide Section at 504-364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
