NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The LSU Lady Tigers took on UCLA in the sweet 16 matchup, winning 78-69.
“They are cardiac tigers through and through. They give us a heart attack, but we pull through every time,” said LSU alumni Tracy Naquin.
It was a close call for the LSU Lady Tigers that left fans glued to the television in the last quarter.
Overall, LSU has now advanced to elite 8, Naquin said she is proud to be an alumnus.
“As someone who spent years at that school going to all of these sporting events, I am proud of the heart of the soul of everything that they are giving on that court every time they step on it,” said Naquin.
Fans say they got a little nervous but knew deep down they had this game in the bag. They do have a few tips for the team.
“Flau’jae played her butt off, just needs more people to help out. We can’t just have one scorer so Angel Reese and the other girl are in there we will be good,” said LSU fan LaTrina Woods.
“They need to keep Angel Reese in the game a little bit more Flau’jae she’s good. I’m late all day, my daughter went there,” said an LSU fan.
Going into the next game fans have one thing they want people to know about their lady tigers.
“We are ready to face Ohio next week one hundred percent,” said Naquin.
