NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a double shooting in the St. Roch neighborhood on Thursday, April 4.
According to NOPD officers, they arrived in the 2000 block of Mandeville Street at 9:30 a.m. to find two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
The two were taken to a hospital by EMS. Their conditions were not released.
According to the NOPD, one of the victims was in a vehicle talking to the other victim, who was sitting on steps, when the shooting happened. It was reported that the driver and passenger of a black vehicle in the same block got out and started shooting.
The suspect’s vehicle and the victim’s vehicle were both reported as stolen. The NOPD reported the suspect’s vehicle had been set on fire in the 2100 block of Benton Street.
