NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man has been arrested in connection with a homicide that happened in the Plum Orchard area in June 2023, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

On June 25, 2023, NOPD officers said they responded to the 8000 block of Old Gentilly Road, where they found 84-year-old Sterling Bell dead in his bed.

Following an investigation, NOPD detectives said they identified Ted Lee Jordan Jr. as the suspect.

They said the NOPD Special Operations Division arrested Jordan on Wednesday, April 17, in connection with the investigation.

Jordan was booked into the Orleans Justice Center on charges of second-degree murder.

In response to arrests made by the NOPD this week, including arrests in the Wits Inn homicide and the Royal Street Mardi Gras night shooting, NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said, “These arrests should tell you, that if you pull a trigger in New Orleans, we will find you.”
