NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Good Morning, New Orleans! This morning, we are waking up to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures dipping into the lower 70s across a few spots. Southeast winds are around 5-10 mph, occasionally gusting higher.
As the morning starts off a bit cloudy, we’ll see just a few peaks of sunshine. Highs will rise into the low 80s with southeast winds. As winds bring in more moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, we’ll see humidity building throughout the weekend before Sunday’s cold front arrives.
Tonight, temperatures will drop to around 70 degrees as humidity stays elevated across the region. Friday will bring more of the same, with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the lower 80s, accompanied by southeast winds of 5 to 10 mph.
Friday offers a slight break from the clouds, with partly sunny skies and highs in the lower 80s. However, Friday night and Saturday will bring a return of mostly cloudy conditions, with lows in the upper 60s and highs again in the lower 80s.
By Saturday night, there’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight, with lows in the mid 60s. The chance of rain is around 20 percent.
Sunday brings a higher chance of precipitation, with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of thunderstorms throughout the day. Showers are likely in the afternoon, with highs in the lower 70s. The chance of rain increases to 60 percent.
Looking ahead to the start of next week, expect mostly sunny conditions on Monday with highs in the mid 70s. Monday night and Tuesday will be mostly clear, with lows in the lower 60s and highs in the upper 70s.
