NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)- If you’re trying to get a techie, better head to New Orleans.

That’s where a summit is drawing more than 11,000 tech types and creative geniuses from around the world.

It’s called Collision.

It’s where technology startups like are holding court and making their pitches to investors.

It’s going on from April 26-28 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

For the last couple of years, Collision collided with Las Vegas.  That’s where it drew 7,500 folks from more than 89 countries.

There’s a conference in Europe just like Collision.  That’s one is called Web Summit. It started in 2010 in Dublin.  That year 4,000 people showed up.  And now, Web Summit draws 22,000.

When it comes to hearing great speakers in the technology field, it gets no better than Collision.

Football star Brett Favre will speak.  Professional Wrestler Mick Foley will be on a Collision stage.

New Orleans own Queen of Bounce Big Freedia gets a moment in the spotlight to talk about the new app she’s creating that combines her own Bounce music with exercise.

President and publisher of The Daily Beast, Mike Dyer is on the line up.

You can even hear from internationally recognized DJ, radio personality, consultant, author and music supervisor, Stretch Armstrong.

A lot of ideas are colliding at Collision.

And the good news for New Orleans is, the convention will be back here for the next two years.
