NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Hundreds of runners gathered downtown Saturday morning to take part in the Big Easy, Big Heart 5K and Fest Experience.

The event benefited the New Orleans Mission to help rescue sexually, physically, and emotionally abused women. Registration took place at the Hard Rock Cafe on Bourbon Street and then started on Canal Street.

The race went through areas such as the French Quarter, the Marigny, and the finish line on Bourbon Street.

WGNO was a proud sponsor for this year’s Big Easy, Big Heart event.
