The Pelicans were hoping for some more NBA draft lottery magic Tuesday night.
It did not happen. For any of the 14 teams in the lottery. All stayed in their original slots, including New Orleans at pick number 6.
Four years ago, the Pelicans jumped to the top of the draft and selected Anthony Davis with the first pick. Davis is only Pelicans draft pick remaining on the current roster.
Philadelphia will pick first, followed by the Lakers, and the Celtics, who acquired a first round pick in a trade with Brooklyn.
The Pelicans had the 6th pick in 2013, but traded it to Philadelphia as part of the trade for guard Jrue Holiday.
Philadelphia then selected Kentucky center Nerlens Noel.
Last season, Noel averaged 11 points, and 8 rebounds a game.
