NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The unsettled weather will continue across the area Friday and into the weekend the way it stands right now. More storms are moving through the central part of the state and will move across southeast Louisiana through the evening. Expect lightning and locally heavy downpours. This activity will be weakening some as it moves east.

It looks like we will continue this pattern of stormy weather through at least Saturday. Expect showers and storms to redevelop by late morning through the afternoon on Saturday. Once again lightning and heavy rain will be the main threats with the potential for isolated strong wind gusts.

Activity should become a bit less widespread on Sunday as we begin to dry out early next week. Look for temperatures to be cooler once the rain pops up but we will likely heat back into the 90s as we dry out next week.
