KENNER, La. (WGNO) – A 21-year-old shift manager at the Raising Cane’s on Williams Boulevard in Kenner has died from her injuries she received during a robbery early Wednesday morning.

The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s office has identified the manager as Taylor Friloux.

According to Kenner police, two men approached and demanded money from the victim and several employees who were throwing garbage away outside the Raising Cane’s in the 3300 block of Williams Boulevard about 1:25 a.m.

“He put it [knife] to the female employees neck and forced her back into the business where they forced her to open the safe,” said Lt. Brian McGregor.

After clearing out the contents of the safe, McGregor said one suspect stabbed Friloux multiple times as he was fleeing the back door of the restaurant and into a waiting vehicle.

Friloux was rushed to the hospital in critical and unstable condition. She later died.

Raising Cane’s issued the following statement about the fatal robbery:

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our Crewmember. Our thoughts and prayers are with Taylor’s family. We are working with the Kenner Police Department in an active investigation. Our Kenner restaurant is currently closed as we are focusing on the welfare of our Crew.”

Kenner police confirmed that one suspect is in custody. Employees identified him as 23-year-old Joshua Every. Every was arrested at his home in LaPlace. He is a former Raising Cane’s employee.

Authorities are still searching for two more suspects.

The Louisiana State Police and the St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Department is assisting with the investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Kenner Police Detective Brad Ricke at (504) 712-2214.

The Raising Cane’s on Williams Boulevard will be closed for the rest of the day and possible on Thursday.
