NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Ron Bellamy strikes again.

The Michigan wide receivers coach and Marrero product secured a third commitment from Louisiana’s talented pool of players in the class of 2025.

Destrehan wide receiver Phillip Wright III chose the defending national champions over Georgia and LSU Saturday at Lemon Playground.

“He’s a guy just like me. He came from Louisiana. He was a highly ranked recruit, and he would always tell me, don’t be scared to leave if it’s one of the best opportunities for you. But he’s also a good coach, he’s a great coach. He knows what he’s doing and he’s just trying to get the best pieces for them to go back for another national championship,” said Wright.

Wright received an offer from Michigan in November.

The 6-foot tall, 175-pound, four-star prospect is an explosive playmaker that features 4.3 speed. He also ran a 10.48 in the 100-meter dash.

Michigan has also received commitments from Archbishop Shaw wide receiver Jacob Washington and running back Jasper Parker.
