NEW ORLEANS, LA (WGNO) — Louisiana voters will decide who will replace Senator David Vitter, after he retired.
Louisiana State Treasurer John Kennedy has been a front-runner since the beginning of the race, which began with a large field of 24 candidates.
One has since dropped out, but competition between the remaining 23 is stiff.
Democratic lawyer Caroline Fayard, democratic Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell and republican U.S. Representatives Charles Boustany and John Fleming are polling high.
Former KKK wizard David Duke has polled higher than expected, even qualifying for the final debate at Dillard University.
The race will most likely go to a run-off between the top two candidates, which would happen December 10th.
