NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The NOPD has arrested a man suspected in two thwarted armed robberies yesterday.

The unidentified man approached a woman in the 8700 block of Leake Avenue just after 11 a.m. and lifted his shirt to reveal a gun tucked into his waistband, according to initial reports by the NOPD.

The woman ran off, and the robbery was averted.

Just after 2 p.m., the same man approached a woman at the corner of Cambronne Street and Pritchard Place, once again raising his shirt to reveal a gun tucked into his waistband.

A passing motorist saw the situation unfolding, got out of his car, and approached the attempted armed robber, who fled the scene and was quickly apprehended by officers.
