NEW ORLEANS — Assata Renay is a promising young local artist with a new album coming out called Energy of the Sun.

She’s celebrating with a release party Thursday, 8 p.m., at The Building at 1427 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.

Assata Renay recently stopped by the Twist studio to perform a couple songs from the album.
