Jeff Hamburger

Jeff Hamburger is a true New Orleanian. He was born on Mardi Gras Day, Feb. 15th, 1972. His dad wanted to name him “Rex,” but thankfully his mother won that fight.

Jeff attended Jesuit High School and upon graduation spent two enjoyable, but not so academically successful years at LSU before transferring to UNO.

He got his first job in news at WDSU as a production assistant and quickly rose through the ranks to weekend assignment manager. After a long stint at WDSU, Jeff ventured out to other Louisiana markets, taking News Director positions at stations in Monroe and Baton Rouge, before returning to New Orleans, where he now hold the Multi-Media Director position at WGNO.

Jeff has traveled extensively to cover news events including the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center in New York and its aftermath. He also was on the front lines covering the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the conviction of former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards.

Jeff lives in Metairie with his wife Monique, also a New Orleans native and their overfed cat Brodie.

Jeff enjoys film and has a near-encyclopedic memory when it comes to modern cinema.

Jeff also enjoys military history and sport shooting in his spare time as well as being an avid (if not very good) golfer.
