Darian Trotter

Darian Trotter joined WGNO in June 2010. His duties include reporting breaking news and enterprise stories evenings, Monday through Friday.

Darian is an experienced, award-winning reporter having worked in seven previous news markets including Chicago- Fox, Detroit-WDIV, and his native Nashville- WSMV. Darian says moving to New Orleans is a welcomed change. “I’m looking forward to the city’s rich culture in arts and entertainment, as well as its authentic cuisine.”

Darian is no stranger to beating the streets in hot, humid weather. He spent three successful years as a general assignment reporter the Cox-owned Powerhouse WFTV in Orlando, and says he prefers a more tropical climate. “After long winters in both Illinois and Michigan, I am long overdue for warmer weather,” says Trotter.

In his free-time, Darian is an avid bodybuilder who has mastered diet and exercise as a way of life. Trotter says, “I find peace in my workouts. They not only strengthen my body, but also help replenish my mind and soul.”

Darian enjoys mentoring young journalists, and working with student interns. “I try to give interns a true inside look at television news, just as my mentors gave me,” says Trotter.

As a journalist Darian enjoys the craft of storytelling; and he prefers covering issues and the untold stories that make a difference in the lives of his viewers. He welcomes your story ideas. You can reach him at Darian@digital-staging.wgno.com.
