UPDATE:
Frankie and Hitch have been adopted! Frankie was rescued from a house fire back in May. The firefighter who rescued her had to give her up when he had to move. Since then, Frankie has been tied to the hip with another cat, Hitch. Petsmart in Elmwood says they are inseparable. A group called SpayMart Kitten Foster says the two were adopted on Wednesday by a happy couple.
HARAHAN, La. (WGNO) – It’s an inspiring story of survival and love. Local firefighter Gary Descroche saved a kitten from an abandoned house fire in May. He named her Frankie, from the initials F-R-K, which stand for “Fire Rescue Kitty!”
Her ear was burned and she had chemicals on her skin, but thanks to Gary and her foster friend Hitch, she’s now healthy and healed.
Sadly, though, Gary had to move and couldn’t take the cats along, so they’re now looking for a new home.
And they want to stay together!
Frankie and Hitch are at the Petsmart in Elmwood, but they’re being adopted through a group called SpayMart.
