INDEPENDENCE, La. (WGNO) — “The Independence Sicilian Heritage Festival has a long tradition of celebrating the culture, accomplishments, music and food of our Sicilian Families who settled in Independence and Tangipahoa Parish. The Festival is always held the second weekend in March and we have a standing invitation for everyone to come and enjoy three days of great food, music and family fun,” the festival’s website states.
