NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans is always a hot destination for Halloween and many of our favorite local spots are getting in the spirit!
The Roosevelt New Orleans, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel debuted a spooky selection of sweet treats by head pastry chef Deborah Heyd.
The nutella shortbread mummy cookies, mini monster chocolate whoopie pies and other creations are available at Teddy’s cafe through the weekend.
Over at Johnny Sanchez, you’ll find a three-course Day of the Dead menu for $40:
Kale Salad
Pomegranate, pepitas, apples, pickled fennel, manchego
Trio of Oaxacan Moles
Turkey w/ mole negro, rabbit w/ mole amarillo, chicken w/ mole verde (served platter style with rice, beans and warm tortillas)

Hoja Santa Wrapped Swordfish
Guajillo shellfish broth, chorizo and shrimp crispy paella
Calabaza en Tacha
Candied pumpkin tart, mexican cinnamon, queso fresco ice cream
Top it all off with Mezcalero’s Punch! The festive concoction for two is served in a keepsake skull and costs $16.
