NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Nobody needs a brisk afternoon walk more than a desk-bound office worker, except for maybe a shelter dog.
Buddy Break presented by Camp Bow Wow is a Jefferson SPCA program pairing 9-to-5ers with shelter dogs for lunchtime strolls. Everyone gets the fresh air, camaraderie, exercise, and tail wagging they need. Join Jefferson SPCA pets and meet Saint’s Hall of Famer Joe Horn.
Studies show that office workers, who take breaks from the daily grind have increased productivity, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. When that break involves exercise, fresh air, and the proven stress relief of interacting with a friendly dog — well, it becomes even more potent.
Not only that, but adoptable dogs who are walked regularly have fewer social and behavioral problems, making them more likely to be adopted.
No commitment. No strings. No pressure. All you need is a willingness to hang out with a dog who needs the walk as much as you do.
Come get your doggie fix during lunch! Take a Buddy Break.
Presented by Camp Bow Wow, Buddy Break will feature the following:
- Dozens of adoptable shelter dogs
- Puppy Party – unlimited play for kids and adults alike with adorable shelter pups
- Photo Booth
- Kissing Booth
- Free lint rollers & “I Walked a Dog at Buddy Break” stickers
The Jefferson SPCA supports the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter and aids in its lifesaving mission. Our programs prevent and address animal cruelty and provide much-needed medical treatment, rescues, and ultimately adoptions for homeless pets.
They support one of the most ambitious spay and neuter programs in the country and are committed to the treatment and eradication of heartworm disease in pets that would otherwise be euthanized. The shelter relies on your support to continue these vital programs and to save and improve the lives of Louisiana`s kindest and furriest residents.
