This weekend features great fun for the entire family, with intergalactic Carnival parades, beautiful ballet from Spain, and even gripping murder mystery theater. Here are Where Y’at’s picks!:

Some of this weekend’s events include:

  • First, tomorrow night, get ready for an evening of “Who Dunnit?” The Women’s Guild of the New Orleans Opera Association is hosting a thrilling Murder Mystery called “Death of a Gangster”. It includes entertainment and dinner at the Opera Guild Home. Attire is “Roaring 20s.
  • Next, head to Crescent City Brewhouse for a Chewbacchus viewing party! Chewbacchus consists of 150 sub-krewes that love all things sci-fi. The Crescent City Brewhouse is right on the parade route with great views from their balcony, so grab a beer with your dinner, and enjoy the action.
  • After the parade, rock out at the House of Blues to celebrate America’s favorite heavy metal band, Metallica! The Four Horsemen, a rock band that gained popularity in late 80s, will be performing the Metallica tribute. Tickets start at $16.
  • Finally, Spain’s premier Compañia Nacional de Danza will be gracing the stage at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre on Saturday evening. the show will present a melody of three ballets. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., and tickets start at $35. Don’t miss this captivating performance!
