NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Watch every Thursday morning as WhereYat.com and Where Y’at Magazine bring the top picks of great things to do in the beautiful city of New Orleans.

Happy Jazz Fest! Whether you’re heading out for today’s Locals’ Thursday, or plan on going this weekend, the weather is picture-perfect. But there are other festivals happening centered around wine, seafood, and even kites; here are Where Y’at’s weekend picks!

Some of this weekend’s events include:

  • If you enjoy your music at night, then Live Nation’s Fest After Dark series is for you… a star-studded lineup featuring Dumpstaphunk, Anders Osborne and many more! Don’t miss epic performances at the House of Blues, The Fillmore, and the Saenger, both this weekend and next.
  • Next, seafood enthusiasts rejoice: the 20th Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival starts tomorrow in Belle Chase…featuring fresh Plaquemines Parish seafood specialties. Musical acts include Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and others. There’ll also be carnival rides and a 5k race.
  • The Wine Spectator Grand Tour is tomorrow night at the New Orleans Marriott. Meet winemakers from around the world while tasting exceptional varietals at this festival of wine, plus enjoy food and wine pairings while mingling with fellow eenophiles. VIP tickets are also available.
  • Finally, starting Saturday, look towards the skies in Port Allen in West Baton Rouge at Kite Fest Louisiane’. Marvel at a sky full of intricate and colorful kites of all shapes and sizes. Bring your own kite, or simply enjoy others’. Admission is free, and Saturday features a firework display.
