NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Watch every Thursday morning as WhereYat.com and Where Y’at Magazine bring the top picks of great things to do in the beautiful city of New Orleans.

Wednesday is the start of the country’s largest free music festival: French Quarter Fest! But there are other events happening around the region, including festivals for strawberry lovers, engaging theater, and fantastic comedy: here are Where Y’at’s weekend picks!

Some of this weekend’s events include:

  • First, the Northshore’s favorite festival – the Ponchatoula Strawberry Fest – is here. It features carnival rides, games, a parade, and delicious Ponchatoula strawberries. Enjoy strawberries that are chocolate-covered, blended into daiquiris, baked into shortcake, and much more.
  • Theater lovers will want tickets to JPAS’ Noises Off at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center…starting tomorrow night and running through next weekend. This play within a play, filled with chaos and comedy, has been called “the funniest farce ever written!” **Rated PG-13**
  • Next, the NOLA SpeedTour returns to NOLA Motorsports. This three-day event starts tomorrow and features racing, a car show, and family fun. The Trans Am Series will run its 2024 championship race, and fans can take advantage of SpeedTour’s open paddock, where the cars can be seen up close.
  • Finally, Nikki Glaser performs Saturday night as part “The Good Girl” tour. The talented female comedian, known for her popular podcast, brings her show to the Mahalia Jackson Theater. Glaser has also appeared in various comedy specials and television series; great seats are still available.
