GRETNA, La. (WGNO) — When a team of Louisiana teenagers hits the dance floor, they warm up to win.
That’s for Carnival season, and every season.
They’re the Blue Heat Dance Team, and they’re ready to roll on Lundi Gras. And every day of the year.
WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood wants you to watch them roll.
The Blue Heat team struck solid gold when their video went global.
The Blue Heat’s field of dreams is Young Audiences Charter School in Gretna.
Before they arrived on the international, internet stage, these ladies were already stars at football games and of course all parades.
All because they signed up for what their school calls the Dance Pathway.
It’s a daily, deliberate course curriculum that takes four years.
And lasts for a lifetime.
You’ll hear from the Blue Heat members how their ambitions for careers begin on the dance floor.
Turns out the Dance Pathway is the perfect pathway.
The right road, all right.
To travel any place your imagination and your two feet can take you.
