Beauty Tips w Dr. Burkenstock: Dr. B discusses using radio frequency lasers to smooth out cellulite

Cellulite is where the fat gets squished between the collagen and fiber strands and pushes up through the skin. It’s congestion in the lymphatic tissue. All of us have it and we wish we didn’t.

There are some ways we can improve it. At the doctor’s office, Radio Frequency lasers, which provide a deep heating through multi polars. There are various Radio Frequency machines: The uni-polar, the bi-polar, tri-polar, and the multi-polar, which goes down the deepest.

In our Clinic we use the multi-polar, and we’ve found we get very, very nice results. We’re imploding the heat deep down into the dermis. This helps to break up some of those fatty tissue collagen bundles, decreases the circumference of the tissue. In addition to that, you see an improved appearance of that dimpling, that orange peel look of cellulite.

Radio frequency treatments are set up 2 weeks apart for a series of 6. You can continue every so often, perhaps quarterly to maintain the look you’ve achieved. It’s painless, and there’s absolutely no down time.
