Church play uses gun violence to take you ‘Beyond the Grave’

METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) – Since 1999, Beyond the Grave has touched thousands. Now the production is getting ready for another live performace.

Beyond the Grave is a stage production put on by the church members at Victory Fellowship in Metairie, Louisiana. The story focuses on the aftermath of a tragic school shooting and then the afterlife of the students that perished.

While the script is fictional, the church wants their audience to be aware that the same scenario could happen to anyone at any time.

“Our goal is to show students real-life abusive homes, good homes. We go from the top to the bottom, from the down and out to the well-off kids to show that everyone’s the same. That their soul is at risk,” says codirector Katie Gremillion.

The next performance of Beyond the Grave is Friday, April 22 at 7 p.m.
