NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Royal Carriages is opening its stables in the Marigny to the public on October 26 to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary.
The historic stable will also take the occasion to celebrate National Mule Day.
The Shotgun Jazz Band will be providing music for the event, which begins at 2 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m., and food will be provided by the New Orleans School of Cooking and Aunt Sally’s Pralines.
For the past 75 years, the Lauga family has been hosting carriage tours of the French Quarter and surrounding areas from their stables at 1824 North Rampart, making Royal Carriages the oldest commercial carriage operator in the United States.
The event is free and open to the public, and free wagon rides and tours of the stables will be offered. Halloween costumes are encouraged, and the event is open to all ages.
