If you have a hankering for seafood, and are willing to take a little ride on River Road to Destrehan, you will find a place that does seafood right. Not only can you get your fried, and boiled favorites but you can also pick up sauces, seasonings and even a daiquiri. It’s the Seafood Pot, and it is worth the visit.
When we swung in Erik and the gang were getting ready for their lunch rush. That didn’t stop them from whipping up a table full of their great boiled seafood and some tasty, tasty lagniappe. The boiled crawfish were awesome. Their mudbugs were spicy and red. They had a nice kick and they were really good-sized. I couldn’t stop eating them. I also sampled some boiled crabs. They were just as tasty. I was quite surprised to see that the Seafood Pot had big crabs. Demand from the eastern portion of the country has made it quite difficult to get your hands on #1’s. The Seafood Pot had some giants, I mean they were the size of my head. Let me assure you that they were good eating, too.
If you are looking for something cool to chase that hot boiled seafood, you can score a daiquiri in one of about a half-dozen flavors. No doubt about it, Seafood Pot has a little bit of everything. So, whether it’s boiled or fried, hot or cold you’ll find something good at the Seafood Pot right on River Road.
