NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)- Arnold Schwarzenegger promised he’d be back, and he is in the 5th installment of the Terminator series with the new blockbuster movie, “Terminator Genisys”.   The new sci-fi flick is full of characters including a Refugee Terminator.

News with a Twist Reporter, Kenny Lopez met with a local actor, Aaron Williamson, who plays The Refugee Terminator.

Looking at where “Terminator Genisys” actor Aaron Williamson has been, to where he’s arrived at his place of destiny is what’s filling him with a feeling of awe!

“Growing up I had a rough childhood.  I had zero direction and I was always in trouble.  I was a bad kid, the kind of kid that you’re parents wouldn’t let you hang out with,”  Williamson said.

He found his way by joining the Marine Corps, where he was put in a leadership position working security for the Department of Defense, which eventually lead to him moving to New Orleans on a leap of faith.

“Just a few years ago, I was living out of a car.  I had nothing.  I had no one,”  he said.

His life took an upward turn as he became a personal fitness trainer to such stars as Zac Efron, The Rock, Josh Brolin, and James Marsden, just to name a few of his high-profile celebrity clients.

Williamson quickly transitioned into acting landing the role as the Refugee Terminator in the 5th installment of the mega-popular sci-fi franchise.

“I go back and try to kill the young Kyle Reese.  Being a Terminator, you’re this cold and emotionless machine who wants to kill.  Being a Terminator was a little bit of symbolism to my life.   Being in the Marines you’re programmed to do stuff in situations that you don’t necessarily want to do,” he said.

Aaron said he could’ve never imagined he’d be in a movie alongside one of his heroes as a kid: Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“The initial meeting with Schwarzenegger is something I’ll never forget.  I felt like a little kid all over again.  When he looked at me and told me I had a nice physique that meant a lot.  I mean it’s Arnold Schwarzenegger, the man who gave fitness life.  It really reinvigorated me,” Williamson said.

Williamson now uses his power to motivate others through his health column in “Scene” Magazine and he is a motivational speaker to kids at detention facilities.  Giving back is a big part of what he hopes to accomplish.

“Hopefully, whoever is going through the same issues that I did as a kid can realize there’s hope.  I was a young, skinny, punk kid whose now on screen as a Terminator, living my dream.  It just means so much to be where I’m at right now,” he said.
