Emotions are running high for many who work in the film business in Louisiana after last week’s decision by lawmakers. The final decision was to cap film productions at $180 million, which opponents say will eliminate the movie industry in Louisiana and it could affect nearly 30,000 jobs.

Louisiana Film and Entertainment Association has put out a petition for people wanting to fight back and have Governor Bobby Jindal veto the bill.

Theaters this weekend were packed with Jurassic Park fans.

The Hollywood South shot film Jurassic World shined on the big screens across the globe this weekend bring an estimated $204 million domestically and $307 million global bringing in an estimated $511 million to the table according to Box Office Mojo.

Making it the highest global grossing film on an opening weekend.
