Louisiana’s film studios
Northwest Louisiana’s film industry is feeling the stress of the new tax incentive laws. The President of Millennium Studios, Diego Martinez, in Shreveport, La., announced that the film studio is “going dark.”
The 70,000 Sq. ft facility is known for making blockbuster films like Olympus has Fallen, The Expendables, and The Iceman.

“Like Shreveport and other areas in Louisiana, we have unquestionably seen a downturn in production business in Baton Rouge due to the law change and misconceptions about how it works. However, we think the slowdown is temporary which is why we recently expanded Celtic Studios by acquiring another 10 acres. We remain optimistic about the long-term prospects for the growth of Louisiana’s film industry under the new governor. Celtic Studios is here to stay.”
